 NO CRISIS PLAN [1]

According to environmentalists in Pakistan, there is no disaster management plan for the 149,837 fisherfolk families settled along the 30 kilometres of the Karachi coastline, in case of any emergency as was experienced during the recent cyclone. For a city like Karachi, most of which is constructed around sea level (there are areas below sea level), a disaster management plan would include publicly disseminated and orderly evacuations procedures, and designated shelters.
