A petition has been filed in the Bombay High Court against the construction of Nisarga Vihar, a nature centre proposed to be built on a 50-acre area within the Mulund side buffer zone of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai. According to the petition, the creation of such an area within the national park violated the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 and the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980, besides harming the ecology of the area.
