Europe can transform its climate leadership into a global competitive advantage by scaling up innovation and deployment, the industry-backed Industrial Innovation for Competitiveness (i24c) initiative has said. In a new report written in collaboration with tech consultancy firm Capgemini and released, the initiative found that the upcoming Energy Union's Research, Innovation and Competitiveness strategy (EURICS) could provide a "unique opportunity" to make Europe a global leader in energy innovation by raising ambition on climate. The i24c initiative is a platform inspired by the European Climate Foundation, which aims to help develop and promote an industrial strategy that harnesses innovation to boost the competitive advantage held by European industries.
