Judgement of the Supreme Court of India regarding transit fee levied by states on forest products and minerals among others, 15/09/2017 [1]

Judgement of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of State of Uttarakhand & Others Vs Kumaon Stone Crusher dated 15/09/2017 regarding transit fee levied by three States (Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh) on forest products and minerals among others.

The writ petitioners from whom the transit fee was realised with effect from 01.05.2016 in accordance with the Fifth Amendment to 1978 Rules shall be entitled to claim for refund along with interest @ 9% which shall be considered by the State or any officer authorised by the State.
