The Ministry of Power on April 15, 2021 has issued the Draft Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Manner and Intervals for Conduct of Energy Audit (Accounting) in electricity distribution companies) Regulations, 2021. The following regulations have been made: These Regulations shall extend to all electricity distribution companies notified as designated consumer and from the date of commencement of these regulations, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Manner and Intervals of Time for Conduct of Energy Audit) Regulations, 2010 shall not be applicable on the electricity distribution companies notified as designated consumer; Every electricity distribution company shall have its first energy audit (accounting) conducted, by accredited energy auditor within 04 months from the date of coming into effect of these regulations. Provided that if an electricity distribution company is established after date of coming into effect of these regulations, such electricity distribution shall have its first energy audit within 04 months from the date of being notified as designated consumer.
