The matter related to bringing life saving Covid-19 vaccines under price control by invoking section 3 of Essential Commodities Act, 2005 and to make available these life saving drugs at the rate to Rs.150/- to all. Also, prayer for direction to be issued to concerned authorities to bring medical devices like oxygen concentrator, pulse oximeter and others under price control.
The High Court directed the Central government to file an affidavit on the action taken in pursuance of the notification, February 11, 2020 and office memorandum, June 29, 2020 (monitoring of price of critical medical equipment).
