The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways vide notification 27th January, 2022 has issued the draft Central Motor Vehicles (……………Amendment) Rules, 2022 further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. Through this amendment- A new clause (a) (iv) shall be inserted in sub rule (II) in Rule 115-B which reads as- For the vehicles manufactured on and after the 1st April 2016, the type approval norms as applicable, subject to minimum of Bharat Stage-IV emission norms for 2 and 3 wheeler. A new sub-rule (III) which deals with ‘For in-use BS VI gasoline vehicles of categories L, M&N with GVW less than 3.5T’ shall be inserted in Rule 115-B. A new sub rule (7A) which deals with ‘Replacement of In-use BS VI Diesel engine by new LPG engine for vehicle categories L,M&N with GVW less than 3.5T’ shall be inserted in Rule 115-C.
