The Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science & Technology, Environment & Forests in its meeting held on 20th August, 2007, decided to take up for examination the aspects relating to Global Warming and its Impact on India and report thereon. In this regard the Committee heard the views of the Secretaries of Ministries of Environment and Forest, Earth Sciences and Department of Science & Technology, the representative of The Energy Research Institute (TERI) and Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India. In addition, the Committee also heard the views of some experts. In the meeting held on 29th August, 2008 the Committee considered the draft report and adopted the same.
