Organically grown cotton is more profitable for farmers than Bt cotton & is the pro-poor option for improving economic livelihood in rural communities finds this new Greenpeace report. It is based on analysis of non-Bt organic and Bt cotton farmers in Andhra Pradesh.
This report said the monetary benefits of organic cotton farming are much greater than using the genetically engineered variety that makes farmers more vulnerable to financial collapse due to high debts and increased costs of cultivation. The report titled
