This rapid EIA and EMP has been prepared for 2x150 mw thermal power plant to be set up at village Dongamahua, tehsil Garghoda, district Raigarh of Chhattisgarh by Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. This report addresses the environmental aspects of construction and operation of the proposed 2 X 150 mw thermal power project in district Raigarh. The project area is referred to as core zone and the area with in 10 km of its periphery referred to us buffer zone. The core zone and the buffer zone together are called as study area. The area falling within a 10 km radius was considered to assess coimpatiblity with normal environmental guidelines.
