National Register of Large Dam (NRLD) is a compilation of the large dams in the country prepared as per information received from the State Government / Authority concerned. The lists of dams have been regrouped as per their location within the territory of a State. The sole purpose of the NRLD is to provide basic information about a dam to any interested party who can then approach the State Government / Authority concerned for further information. At present there are 4857 completed large dams and 341 large dams are under construction in India.
