This study evaluates the MSME sector in terms of its physical and financial performance and the current state of awareness and its perceptions and responsiveness towards energy efficiency. It identifies the gaps and limitations in the implementation of various financial and technical support programmes and to gauge the responsiveness of MSMEs to these programmes. Based on this analysis, it develops a set of implementable recommendations which will complement the Government of India’s plan to improve energy efficiency in MSMEs.
