Question raised in Rajya Sabha on MGNREGAs help in tackling climate change, 22/11/2019. The Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) is implementing a programme titled “Infrastructure for Climate Resilient Growth (ICRG)” with the support from the Department for International Development (DFID), India. The programme aims at providing technical assistance to the Ministry of Rural Development and 103 blocks covering three States (Bihar, Odisha & Chhattisgarh) to improve the design and implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (Mahatma Gandhi NREGS). The focus is to create durable assets which lead to economic development and resilience through ground water recharge, micro irrigation, integrated afforestation and horticulture.
