Report on the registration of diesel BS-IV vehicles and BS-VI diesel vehicles for use for essential public utility services in compliance with the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court on 18.9.2020 [1]

The Hon’ble Supreme Court directed on 18.9.2020 that “insofar as vehicles purchased up to 31.3.2020 which are BS-IV compliant are concerned, they must have been registered with the E-Vahan Portal before the cut-off date to establish the date of purchase. If the purchase had been made on or before 31.3.2020 and these vehicles necessary for municipal corporation to carry essential public utility services should also be registered. But such cases shall be scrutinized by the Environment Pollution Control Authority (EPCA).
