Surface soil moisture changes during 2007 summer monsoon season derived from AMSR-E Land3 product [1]

Soil moisture is an important component of the hydrological
cycle. It contributes significantly to the water and energy flux from the surface of the earth, which in turn drives the atmospheric circulation. In spite of its importance, information on soil moisture is difficult to get. In India, soil moisture-measuring stations are sparse considering its dynamic nature. Remote sensing-based measurement of soil moisture is a better
