This report is the sixth `State of the Arctic environment report' that has been prepared by AMAP in accordance with its mandate. It presents the results of work conducted during AMAP's third phase (2002-2008) in relation to three priority areas persistent organic pollutants, human health, and radioactivity.

This report is the sixth `State of the Arctic Environment Report' that has been prepared by AMAP in accordance with its mandate. It presents the results of work conducted during AMAP's third phase (2002-2008) in relation to three priority areas persistent organic pollutants, human health, and radioactivity. The assessment described in this report builds upon the previous AMAP assessments that were presented in 1997 and 2002. It updates information presented in the previous assessment reports and addresses new issues and contaminants that were not covered in the earlier assessments.
