Carried out in Orissa, India, this study is one of three case studies testing the Climate Smart Disaster Risk Management (CSDRM) approach, a tool to help crosscheck disaster risk management (DRM) interventions for their responsiveness to current and future climate variability. It contains three pillars of action: Tackle Changing Disaster Risk and Uncertainties, supporting the priority areas of the Hyogo Framework for Action; Enhance Adaptive Capacity; and Address Poverty, Vulnerability and their Structural Causes.
