This pollution management sourcebook is intended to provide users with current information on pollution management, including available policy tools for pollution prevention and resource efficiency. The User’s Guide, explains how these tools can be used to manage pollution and what the advantages and limitations are for different stakeholders in following such an approach. It makes the case that positive outcomes will come more quickly if different stakeholders each apply their own policy tools towards solving a common pollution problem (even if it is for very different reasons). These outcomes are also more balanced with respect to both improved competitiveness and pollution management.
