At WaterAid’s Water and Climate Summit in London, March 2020, a High-Level Group led by HRH Prince of Wales pledged to work towards boosting available finance for climate-resilient water, sanitation and hygiene, creating the Water and Climate Finance Initiative (WCFI). WaterAid has since facilitated the convening of a group of experts and stakeholders to identify key actions to deliver this objective. This report presents a review of the existing landscape of international financial flows to the water sector, with a specific focus on climate finance, to help inform the work of the WCFI.
