Public Transportation serves as a cheap and convenient mode of transport for all classes of society, saves fuel and reduces congestion and pollution. It is vital to economic development & social integration of the country. One such mode of Public Transportation in India is the State Road Transport Undertakings (SRTUs). SRTUs assume a place of Prominence in the country. The health and efficiency of SRTUs are extremely important in order to serve the public better. The publication presents the operational and status scenario of forty six SRTUs reported for the financial year 2014-15.
