Guidelines for reporting information on climate finance [1]

Increasing transparency around actions countries take to address climate change is key to fostering confidence, trust and ambition among Parties to the UNFCCC. Accordingly, developed
country Parties need to report on financial support given to developing countries under an international post-2012 climate change agreement. Agreement by Parties on the format and review process for this reported financial data will be critical to ensuring that the data is complete, transparent, comparable and accurate. This Working Paper looks at current systems to report climate finance and proposes ways to build on these existing systems in order to implement a common reporting format.
