Meeting the rising energy demands of a growing world population presents an ideal opportunity to make technology choices that take into account, and to the extent possible, mitigate negative impacts on climate, environment and human health. This report presents the first in-depth international comparative assessment of the environmental and resource impacts of different energy technologies, modelled over the whole life cycle of each technology, from cradle to grave.
