The commitments made by countries to cut carbon emissions have put the world on the threshold of hitting the target of limiting the rise in global temperatures to 2 degrees C.
This report, 'Deciding our future in Copenhagen: will the world rise to the challenge of climate change', says that politicians have made 'major advances and a gathering momentum' over the past few weeks and months. It says that rich countries must provide as much as $200bn a year to poorer countries to help them adapt to and mitigate climate change.
