Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Birendra Singh Matura & Ors. Vs. Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change & Others dated 15/09/2017 regarding the Chardham highway project in Uttarakhand. Counsels appearing for the State of Uttarakhand and Border Roads Organisation submit that they would carry out the project and during the implementation of the project, they would ensure that no muck is thrown either into the river, water bodies and/or in the forest or green area down the hill or otherwise.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Birendra Singh Matura & Ors. Vs. Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change & Ors dated 19/06/2017 regarding widening of NH-34 which is in violation of the Bhagirathi Eco Sensitive Zone Notification.

The Order notes that all the Parties are at consensus that 94 kms of stretch of NH-34 from Dharasu to Gangotri Forest falls within EcoSensitive Zone and any developmental activity in ESZ needs to conform with Zonal Master Plan.
