Like previous years this year also the Central Pollution Control Board conducted environmental air and noise pollution monitoring at three different places in the city. According to preliminary reports there was considerable reduction in dust particles in the air after bursting of crackers during Diwali. There was reduction in noise pollution also during the festival.

A mysterious disease with dengue-like symptoms caused by an unknown virus has affected people in the state capital and various districts in Madhya Pradesh. Private hospitals in the state capital have put up boards stating that beds were not available for patients.

BHOPAL: A decision on an important matter concerning the dispute between Eveready Ltd. and the Madhya Pradesh Government over the property of Union Carbide India Limited was put off by the Chief Judicial Magistrate here on Wednesday.

The hearing in a contempt case filed by Eveready against the State was postponed following an appeal by the latter for time to file a rejoinder.

Uninterrupted supply of water is possible from Upper Lake if its level crosses 1662 feet mark. As the situation stands today only 4.20 feet water is needed for the level of lake to touch 1662 feet mark.
