Karnataka Raitha Sangha State Secretary S Manjunath has alleged that Hemavathi river bank is becoming barren day by day owing to the unholy nexus between the District Administration and sand mining lobby.

Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, he said that they have even complained against illegal sand mining to Deputy Commissioner but no action has been taken so far to control the same.
