The National Green Tribunal has asked the governments of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to ensure that all debris that has accumulated on the banks of the river Yamuna is removed. Issuing the order on Monday, the NGT said the Delhi administration as well as the Irrigation Department of Uttar Pradesh should ensure the removal of all the debris lying in the banks of the Yamuna, within their jurisdiction, irrespective of the fact as to who has dumped it.
