Order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of Nauraj Singh Vs. Sher Singh & Ors. dated 20/02/2015 regarding construction on the river bank flood plain of Yamuna, District Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.

The Learned Counsel appearing for the State of U.P. submits that there is no construction on the land in question particularly the land bearing Khatoni no. 24, village Gulawali, Pargana Dankaur, Tehsil Sadar District Gautam Budh Nagar, U.P. It is a land falling in the river bank flood plain of Yamuna and it is being used only for agricultural purposes. He further submits that these lands have already been acquired by the Indian Railways for the ‘Western Dedicated Freight Corridor’.
