Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Lt. Col. Sarvadaman Singh Oberoi Vs Union of India & Others dated 18/11/2020.

The issue for consideration in the original application was identification, protection and restoration of water bodies in Gurgaon in Haryana. However, in the light of proceedings which took place, the scope of the application was extended to the entire state and then to the entire country, in the interest of protection of the environment.

The state of Tripura on May 26, 2020 filed its report in compliance of the National Green Tribunal order of February 25, 2020 in the matter of Lt. Col Sarvadaman Singh Oberoi Vs Union of India & Others to the Central Pollution Control Board. The NGT had sought information from all states and Union Territories on water bodies – Identification, protection and restoration.

Kerala filed its action plan on restoration of water bodies in compliance of the National Green Tribunal order of February 25, 2020 in the matter of Lt. Col Sarvadaman Singh Oberoi Vs Union of India & Others to the Central Pollution Control Board. The NGT had sought information from all states and Union Territories on water bodies – its identification, protection and restoration.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Lt. Col. (Retd.) Sarvadaman Singh Oberoi Vs. Union of India & Others dated 14/09/2016 regarding car rally to be held on a 30km forest track in the Gurgaon-Faridabad Aravalis. Counsel representing the car rally organisers - Sports Route Trust submitted before the National Green Tribunal that they would not permit any sports car rally and would not make any preparation for taking the car rally through that area. The route of the car rally would pass through only Kundli, Manesar and Palwal Express way service lane.
