Prospective Sites Include Ghats, Sanctuaries, Falls

Lucknow: For wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers planning to explore eco-tourism sites of Uttar Pradesh, there is help at hand. Working on ways to promote eco-tourism in the state and to attract people to exotic locales, UP Forest Corporation (UPFC) will go public with its initiative this week. The corporation will begin with selected tourist sites, including Katarniaghat. Other sites will be taken up over a period of time.

The UP Forest Corporation (UPFC) will start its eco-tourism initiative from Saifai Mahotsav. The corporation will set up a stall at the Mahotsav venue to publicise its initiative.

LUCKNOW: The once ailing Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary has seen a turnaround for sure. Thanks to the abundant water at the place, birds are still flocking to the wetland. While the flocks were retreating by February last year, this time they show no signs of it.

LUCKNOW: The elusive rains might revert Nawabganj bird sanctuary to the state it was a year back. It was in bad shape due to lack of water till Unnao administration took up the cause and ensured smooth flow of water to the sanctuary. The sanctuary played host to lot of birds last winter. But, now since there have been negligent rains, will the fate of sanctuary hang in balance?
