As many as 4,000 houses spread across 26 remote villages in six districts will emerge from darkness this February-end.

The state can look forward to overcoming power shortage by 2011.

With most parts of the state shrouded in darkness following shutdown of a Tenughat Vidyut Nigam Ltd (TVNL) unit for repairs, Governor K. Sankaranarayanan has written to Union power minister Sushilkumar Shinde asking for additional power from the central pool.

The state has assured industrialists that it would look into their power problems.

Industry department secretary N.N. Sinha has also told traders and businessmen that the department would act as a mediator between them and officials of Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB).
