Executives of the company today called on the energy department officials to begin the process of signing an MoU with the state for setting up the plant.

Bokaro, Feb. 26: Fresh life has been breathed into the dormant Tenughat Dam development project.

The Bokaro district administration has prepared a new blueprint for developing the dam into a tourist spot. It was submitted to the tourism department in Ranchi last week.

The state government today said Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) and thermal power plants in the Damodar Valley are the biggest contributors to the polluted Damodar and asked them to clean-up their act.

Ranchi: Three successive bandhs in the last seven days have pushed Tenughat Vidyut Nigam Ltd (TVNL), the major thermal power generating unit of the state, on the brink of a disaster.

The BJP-sponsored two- hour Bharat bandh on August 13, CPI(Maoists) sponsored Jharkhand bandh on August 19 and the bandh call of the Left parties today have adversely affected the coal supply to the company.

Ranchi, Aug. 3: While the state is reeling from severe power crisis, the lack of Tenughat Vidyut Nigam Limited (TVNL) chairman is a spanner in generating capacity power at the plant.

Equipped with two units with a total installed capacity of 440 MW, TVNL is being forced to operate only one. Reason: since June 18, there is no one to authorise payments for regular coal purchases or to renew contracts with transporters for carrying coal from the collieries of Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) to the TVNL plant at Lalpania.
