Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zonal Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Neeraj Chourasiya Vs State of Madhya Pradesh & Others dated 11/08/2014 regarding the storm water drain being constructed by the Municipal Council Vidisha and the likelihood that the storm water drain would be misutilised for carrying untreated sewage water upstream of the river Betwa which would cause serious health hazard since the drinking water supply site is located downstream of the point where the storm water drain is being constructed and is going to enter the river Betwa.

Bhopal: The state government has sanctioned Rs 1 crore four lakh for financial assistance to the calamity victims of Mandla, Vidisha, Dhar, Balaghat, Khargone, Anuppur and Ujjain districts. This amount has been allocated to the concerning district collectors for clearing the pending bills of assistance to victims of snakebite, hailstorm, fire and other needy persons.

Two representatives of the World Bank met the farmers at village Sunpura in Vidisha district yesterday and held discussions with them on issues pertaining to agriculture. They enquired as to what crops they take in which season, which variety of seeds they use, quantum of production, marketing of their produce and application of fertilisers and pesticides. The team was surprised to learn that a pioneer in wheat production Vidisha district has now taken to Basmati rice production and the farmers are getting attracted to orchards.
