The Indian Ocean region has a great diversity of marine ecosystems and exploited fisheries and there is an urgent need for scientists working in the region to share their knowledge and experiences in the scientific, social and economic aspects of these ecosystems and fisheries. The Department of Marine Science and Fisheries is organizing the 2nd International Conference on Fisheries, Aquaculture and Environment in the Indian Ocean. The primary aim of the conference is to bring together scientists from the region to exchange research advancements and promote collaborations and partnerships in the Sultanate of Oman and throughout the Indian Ocean.
