UAS, Bangalore in its journey of last 50 years, played a major role in developing technologies and extension methodologies that could help the sustainable development of the rural communities in Karnataka and the Global Communication Research Association (GCRA), Australia has been providing an academic forum and also seeks to encourage development of research in underrepresented geographical areas of the globe by focusing their areas of interest for the past 14 years.The development in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and digital applications are faster and plays pivotal role in today’s knowledge based economies. To ensure the communities in the developing geographies of the world also a key beneficiary of the digital development, UAS Bangalore and GCAR are organising the 8th GCRA International Conference on “Innovative Digital Applications for Sustainable Development” during 5-7, January, 2016 at UAS Bengaluru. The conference aims to facilitate effective dialogue among the researchers, communication specialists, extension professionals and young students in these disciplines for consolidating the strategies to achieve sustainable development through digital applications.
