Agriculture is the foundation of human life, and of cultural and economic development of every kind. Adequate food and energy provision is the basis for human existence and contributes in avoiding social conflicts and to preserve human dignity and peace. In addition, humanity is facing immense challenges: Climate change, natural disasters, globalization, finance and political crises, improper economic policies and speculations.
The International Council for Sustainable Agriculture (ICSA) stands for Poverty Alleviation by promoting research, science, technology and education as well as through intensifying the cooperation between academics, farmer associations, national and international organizations and industry.
