Agricultural Engineering is becoming increasingly important to make Indian agriculture a sustainable, profitable and competitive enterprise through engineering interventions of farm mechanization, value addition and energy management in production and post-harvest operations. The conference will cover emerging research and new engineering solutions for food production and related activities, as a means to enhance human well-being and promote social benefits. New concerns include energy efficient methods of agricultural, livestock and forestry production while preserving natural resources and landscape by applying modern engineering concepts. Healthier production systems need to encompass higher social and economic benefits. The goal of ETTAE 2014 is to provide a common platform to academia, industry, producers, manufacturers, NGOs, and service providers from all over the country for discussion about novel approaches to integrate agriculture and engineering for enhancing the quality and expectancy of life. Diverse agriculture is characteristic of India. A wide variety of low cost advanced technologies are needed to cope with the economic conditions of farmers. These requirements aim to save precious natural resources and produce environment friendly and healthy food. As technology is part of farming, engineering must contribute to the development of advanced and efficient agricultural practices. Therefore, the conference will offer a wide range of topics for presentations on agricultural engineering and allied subjects and allow time for discussion, for initiating collaborations and for developing ideas for innovations.
