Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of M/s Mehdad & Others Vs. Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change & Others dated 23/07/2018 regarding protection of coastal stretches of India.

NGT has been informed that draft Coastal Zone Management Plans (CZMPs) has been prepared by 5 States out of 13 States. NGT directs the remaining 8 States to complete the process by August 31, 2018. The MoEF & CC may thereafter complete the exercise. With regard to the States who have already filed CZMPs, it will be open to the MoEF&CC to issue an interim Notification applicable to those particular States pending final notification after CZMPs are prepared by the remaining states.
