The blueprint

Air Quality Index
• Finalise draft AQI prepared in the workshop

• Campaigning to raise awareness

• Develop first generation pm 10 aqi forecast

• Demonstrate and forecast pm 10 and carbon monoxide index

• Evaluate response of public to aqi

• Expand monitoring network and monitoring zones

• Develop second generation air quality forecast models.

Emission Inventory
• Form a technical advisory committee

• Evaluate non-traditional top-down methods of doing inventories such as the satellite-based methods being used by the European Union

• Begin traditional bottom-up efforts

• Begin testing on priority pollution sources on a parallel track with the inventory development

• Start a preliminary stationary source inventory

• Periodically update the inventory and reevaluate

• Use ambient air quality data, as it becomes available, to help direct the inventory work

• Determine a central repository for the data, which is readily accessible to all the agencies involved.
