NEW DELHI: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Thursday approved a Centrally-sponsored National Mission on Medicinal Plants.

The total outlay is Rs. 630 crore and the mission will be implemented through the Department of Ayush under the Health and Family Welfare Ministry during the 11th Plan period.

By 2011-12, an extent of 80,000-1,00,000 hectares is proposed to be covered under medicinal plants
