For decades, the narrow bridge on Ganga near Kanpur has been a bottleneck on National Highway 25, connecting Lucknow with Jhansi and other places in central India. However, the daily ordeal of motorists is likely to end soon as a parallel, wider bridge will be thrown open to the public in 2010.
