Govt asks Coal India to tweak FSA
New Delhi The government has directed Coal India to immediately review the force majeure clause in the fuel supply agreements (FSAs), being currently signed with power companies, to prevent disruption of coal supplies by the PSU on flimsy grounds.
A source in the coal ministry said the CIL’s board has already been advised to take up the matter on an urgent basis so that certain unimportant and avoidable events (leading to disruption in coal supplies) in the clause could be deleted.
