LUCKNOW: An ambitious groundwater recharge project in 116 parks of the city may end up contaminating the city groundwater. Experts feel that deep pits and wells being dug up in the parks under this project may work as an open passage for pesticides and other harmful elements.

The project is being undertaken in joint collaboration of Central groundwater board and state groundwater department.
