Kolkata, Aug. 19 Jute prices, which have already crashed by more than 40 per cent or Rs 1,400 a quintal in August, could witness a further fall if the proposed 25 per cent dilution of the Jute Packaging Materials Act (JPMA) of 1987 comes through, according to industry experts.

The price per quintal of raw jute is ruling at Rs 1,800 in August, down from Rs 3,200 in July.
