Navelim villagers on Sunday demanded the intervention of the government to save the once picturesque Xelpem lake polluted by the discharge of sewage waters from neighbouring Margao city.
Agitated villagers sought to know why the government has been going slow in working out a solution to the problem despite the fact that sewage waters flow continuously flow into the lake every day.
