In a rare move, the residents near Pacchanady dumping yard staged a protest against illegal dumping of chemical wastes in the yard on Sunday.

When the local residents learnt that a truck is about to dump chemical waste, they blocked the road.

The protesters alleged that the security guard at the dumping yard allows trucks which dump the chemical waste without permission.
