Retail FDI will unite farm economy with markets
The entry of FDI-driven modern retail in rural areas will induce, not throttle, growth in the food basket of the country
THE government has initiated a timely and relevant debate on the desirability of allowing foreign investment in modern retail. But restricting the entry of FDI to cities with a population of over one million residents would be a bad idea.
