NEW DELHI: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Thursday approved a new Central scheme for providing special infrastructure in States affected by Left-wing extremism. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh presided.

The Rs. 500-crore scheme will be launched during the 11th Plan. For the current financial year, Rs.100 crore has been earmarked, an official spokesperson said.
