The solar refrigerator is di ent from a conventional refriger in that it is powered by a ph voltaic (PV) module of 350 W ca ity, having 10 modules of 1 capacity each. This PV arraty cha a bank of batteries, through a tery charge controller, which in drives a DC motor which is dir linked to the compressor of refrigerator. A 165-litre refriges costs about 1.95 lakhs.
