New Delhi: It may be the festival of lights, but Diwali spells doom for these birds in the country. Prompted by superstition, many people rely heavily on battling illluck with totems, many of which are derived from birds and animals. The owl, for instance, is in demand during this period for the supposed good luck it brings if sacrificed.
